Pipeline cost analysis

This project was designed to show the usefulness of calculus in real world situations. analyzing the cost of running a pipeline across lands owned by multiple parties at different costs is an actual situation that could arise in a career. The use of derivatives to find the minimum cost and optimum path was interesting and much simpler than I first anticipated. As a future high school physics teacher, I will be using calculus to explain concepts to my students. Calculus is very useful in the professional world, and I feel this project (and class) have helped me understand how to apply it to many situations.
